Our plan is to try to "Be Perfect". If you have seen the movie "Friday Night Lights" you know what we mean about "Being Perfect". It's not about hitting the ball as far as Barry Bonds. It's not about being as consistent as Pete Rose. It's not about pitching as well as Nolan Ryan. It's not about stealing bases like Ricky Henderson. It's about trying to. It is about 100% on every at bat, every pitch, and every play. It is about looking at your teammates, parents and coaches and saying "I gave 100%".
A lot of things affect the game of baseball. A bad bounce, a bad call, a wet ball, and a coaching mistake can all be factors in whether or not you win the game. The players can't worry about those things. All we want from our players is to "Be Perfect", get focused, and give 100% on every play.
No matter how hard we try, we will not win every game this year. All we can do is do our best. "Being Perfect" gives us the best chance to win and to achieve our goals.
"All this about winning, what about having fun?" If you said this you obviously have never met any of the Bandit players or parents.
